FAQS
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a semi-permanent brow tattooing technique to create the illusion of fuller brows by using a handheld tool made up of small individual needs to create beautiful realistic hair like strokes on the skin or to enhance the natural features of the face. Microblading is a softer/more subtle cosmetic tattoo than some of older methods which typically use tattoos ink while cosmetic tattoo procedures involve pigments designed to gently fade over time. Fading is a good thing when it comes to "Permanent Makeup" it allows the artist to make changes to color and shape over the years as client’s natural color and facial features change with time.
HOW LONG IS THE APPOINTMENT?
On average 2 hours. The majority of the time is spent consulting, measuring and drawing on a symmetrical set of brows and approving your desired shape and color. The actual procedure itself takes 30 min to an hour.
HOW LONG DOES MICROPIGMENTATION LAST?
A follow up appointment is not included.
A follow up appointment is recommended within 4-6 weeks of the initial procedure.
A follow up is recommend to ensure optimal results. During the healing process, some areas of the skin may retain pigment better than others – this is completely normal.
Occasionally clients want the color darkened or the shape adjusted. This will be addressed at the follow up appointment.
This appointment usually takes about 45-60 minutes.
DOES IT HURT?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
The healing process varies per individual. Typically It takes 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You'll notice the color is very light almost opaque right after two weeks of healing; that is completely normal before the following two weeks are over you should see the official color setting in.
HYGIENE AND SAFETY
No sun burn.
Avoid having Botox in the area to be treated less than 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
The skin should be in good condition at the time of treatment. Avoid chemical peels and treatments that cause sensitivity to the skin.

Avoid intentional direct sunlight on treated area, facial tanning, swimming under water, sauna, steaming, facials or abrasive treatments for 2 weeks following treatment.
Avoid products containing retinols or acids on the treated area – these ingredients increase cell turn over (cell growth) and have a VERY high probability of affecting durability of pigmentation.
Avoid coloring or bleaching eyebrow hair for a 30 days after procedure.
WHAT TO AVOID DAY OF PROCEDURE?
Avoid drinks containing caffeine and alcohol as well as pain killers containing aspirin prior to coming in.
Micropigmentation is considered a semi-permanent tattoo and will fade over time. Touch-ups are recommended every 6-12 months to maintain shape, color, and detail.
Often the amount of time between touch-ups depend on a number of factors like:
Skin type (oily skin tend to fade faster)
Pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster)
Direct exposure to sun (over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment)
Use of daily products that contain (Tretinoin (Retin-A) & Alpha Hydroxy). These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo.
